Full-time Residential Care
Residential care differs from nursing care, aiming to provide personal care and support to individuals whose health needs are less complex.
However, should your loved one develop nursing care needs with us, we can amend their bespoke care plan to incorporate these, changing their care from general residential to nursing care without even having to change rooms. Our skilled nursing care also means that wherever possible, we will avoid sending your loved one to hospital and provide suitable care within the home.
We are also able to provide residential care to individuals living with mild dementia, although in some cases, we may recommend specialist dementia care if we feel this would be beneficial. In addition to personal support, our dementia care include access to a range of stimulating activities and regular outings in the local area.
Before moving to Allenbrook, we complete a full assessment of each person’s needs, which will be used to create a tailored support plan. This assessment will include:
- Speaking to your loved one about their preferences.
- Consulting with you and other relatives to gain an in-depth understanding of their routines, habits, life stories and experiences.
- Speaking to other carers to understand current needs.
This will allow us to produce a plan based on this information, making the transition as smooth as possible.
Our residential care extends beyond physical care to your loved one’s mental and emotional well-being. We achieve this by ensuring we have a range of activities each week that are engaging and stimulating and encourage socialisation to combat loneliness.
Food is a key aspect of life in our home, and our in-house chefs cook fresh, homemade meals each day for residents to enjoy.
